Lumbry Park referrals recruits new hospital director

Writer: The Veterinary EdgeThe Veterinary Edge

Lumbry Park Veterinary Specialists, one of the largest veterinary specialist referral centres in the UK, has recruited RVN Anna Jones as its new hospital director.

Anna has been a qualified veterinary nurse for 15 years and holds a postgraduate certificate in Veterinary Business Management from the University of Liverpool. She is also an SQP for companion animals, a clinical coach, and was a presenter at BVA 2024 within its showcase stream.

Starting out at the age of 16 as an animal nursing assistant in a first opinion clinic, Anna became head nurse for its four clinics in Middlesex and Surrey. She then managed four clinics in London and went on to become managing director of a group of Hampshire practices. Anna briefly moved to pharmaceutical wholesaler as veterinary business manager, but found she missed being in practice.

Anna’s most memorable career highlight to date saw her project-manage the redevelopment of a two-consult room veterinary clinic into a purpose-built 3,400-square-foot practice with five consult rooms, two operating theatres, a dental suite, CT scanner, and separate cat and dog isolation wards.

Anna comments: “In my new role, I promise to continue to support the team in providing exceptional treatment and care for our pets and their owners. I also want to continue to foster strong open relations with our referring clinics, including developing first opinion vets and their teams through Lumbry Park CPD events.”
